Reading Intervention Program
Our Reading Intervention Program is designed to meet the needs of students who experience persistent reading challenges, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, and other diverse learning profiles. With extensive experience supporting a wide range of exceptional learners, we understand that no two students are the same—and our approach reflects that.
Detailed Reading Assessment
Every student begins their journey with a detailed, individualized assessment of reading skills that identifies their unique learning strengths and challenges. This foundational step allows us to tailor each intervention plan with precision, targeting specific areas for growth and building on what each student already knows.
Program Components
Our evidence-based interventions are designed to improve the foundational skills necessary for reading success, including:
- Word Reading and Spelling: Direct instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, and encoding skills to strengthen decoding and spelling accuracy.
- Reading Comprehension: Strategies that support understanding, recall, and critical thinking about texts.
While skill development is a priority, our program also emphasizes building confidence, reducing reading-related anxiety, and nurturing a genuine love for reading.
Intervention vs. Tutoring
Unlike tutoring, which typically reinforces classroom content or provides homework help, intervention addresses underlying skill deficits that impact a student’s ability to read. This program is designed to remediate reading difficulties, not simply to support existing curriculum. Our sessions use structured, research-informed strategies that target core reading processes to promote lasting change.
Program Structure
- Duration: 6–8 weeks
- Frequency: Two 45-minute sessions per week
- Home Connection: Each student receives simple, targeted activities to reinforce skills between sessions. These tasks are designed to be engaging and manageable at home.
Parent Collaboration
We work in close partnership with parents, providing updates, resources, and guidance. Parents learn strategies to support their child’s reading development, helping to reinforce what is taught in each session and promote consistency across environments.
This program offers more than just academic support—it empowers students to overcome reading challenges and fosters a lifelong connection to literacy.
